About This Recipe:
Even though Domino’s delivery or frozen pizza are totally respectable options, I find easy, homemade pizza to be my favorite. All it takes is some pre-made dough, sauce, and your favorite toppings, and you’ve got a fresh pizza in 20 minutes. If you don’t have a cast iron skillet, you can totally make this on a sheet pan, but I love the extra crispy crust that the cast iron skillet creates. The cooking time will vary based on how thick your crust is, but I like a super thin crust and tons of sauce, so please adjust accordingly.
Enjoy!
Ingredients (2 servings)
-8 oz fresh pizza dough
-3/4 cup pizza sauce
-4 oz fresh mozzarella, thinly sliced
-2 oz pepperoni, sliced
-1/4 tsp dried oregano
-1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
-Fresh basil
-Salt & pepper
Instructions (25 minutes)
1. Preheat a cast iron skillet on high heat for a few minutes. Stretch out the pizza dough on the countertop to the size of the skillet.
2. Drizzle olive oil on the skillet and carefully transfer the dough on top. Use a spoon to fully cover the skillet and push the dough a bit up the sides.
3. Spoon the sauce on top of the dough and layer on the mozzarella and pepperoni. Sprinkle with the oregano and crushed red pepper flakes, and bake on the bottom rack at 500 degrees F for 12-16 minutes based on thickness. Top with the fresh basil and serve.
