About This Recipe:
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and nothing screams V-Day more than chocolate covered strawberries. I’m not sure why chocolate covered strawberries are exclusively associated with this subpar holiday, but I’ve decided that I want them year round. These are so easy and fun to make, and cost a fraction of the price than buying them at Godiva or your local chocolatier. I also like to put a heavy coating of chocolate on mine, so I much prefer making them myself.
Ingredients (4 servings)
-1 lb strawberries
-6 oz semi sweet chocolate chips
-2 oz white chocolate chips
-2 tbls milk
Instructions (20 minutes)
1. Fill a small sauce pot with a few inches of water, and bring to a low simmer. Place the chocolate chips in two separate heat proof bowls that can fit on top of the pot without touching the water.
2. Slowly melt the semi sweet chocolate chips and whisk in the milk until smooth. Dip each strawberry into the chocolate and then place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
3. Once all of the strawberries have been dipped, melt the white chocolate chips over the pot. Then use a fork to drizzle the white chocolate over the strawberries. Let the chocolate harden in the freezer for 10 minutes, or in the refrigerator for 25 minutes.
