Chocolate Covered Strawberries

About This Recipe:

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and nothing screams V-Day more than chocolate covered strawberries. I’m not sure why chocolate covered strawberries are exclusively associated with this subpar holiday, but I’ve decided that I want them year round. These are so easy and fun to make, and cost a fraction of the price than buying them at Godiva or Edible Arrangements. I also like to put a heavy coating of chocolate on mine, so that’s the biggest plus to making them at home!

Enjoy!

Ingredients (4 servings)
-1 lb strawberries
-6 oz semi sweet chocolate chips
-2 oz white chocolate chips

Instructions (30 minutes)
1. Fill a small sauce pot with a few inches of water, and bring to a low simmer. Place the chocolate chips in two separate heat proof bowls that can fit on top of the pot without touching the water.
2. Slowly melt the semi sweet chocolate chips and stir until smooth. Dip each strawberry into the chocolate and then place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for 15 minutes to let the chocolate harden.
3. Melt the white chocolate chips over the pot. Use a fork to drizzle the white chocolate over the strawberries.
