About This Recipe:
Last weekend I took a stroll to my local mall in Queens, and of course that had me thinking about the food court and specifically Taco Bell. Although I resisted the temptation, I was thinking about the crunchwrap supreme all week and decided to recreate it at home. It’s really so simple and actually looks and tastes like the legit version (maybe even better!) I pretty much stayed true to Taco Bell’s listed ingredients except for the ground beef, but any other modifications (like adding beans, hot sauce, guacamole,) would be amazing as well.
Enjoy!
Ingredients (4 servings)
-1 lb ground turkey or chicken
-4 flour burrito tortillas
-4 hard taco shells
-1 cup queso
-1/4 head iceberg lettuce, shredded
-1 large tomato, finely diced
-1/2 cup sour cream
-Olive oil
Seasonings
-1 tsp cumin
-1 tsp onion powder
-1/2 tsp garlic powder
-1/4 tsp paprika
-Salt and pepper
Instructions (20 minutes)
1. In a skillet over medium heat, pour in 1-2 tbls of olive oil and brown the ground turkey/chicken. Cook for about 7 minutes until it is fully done. Break it up into small bits and stir in all of the seasonings.
2. Add 1/4 of the meat mixture in the center of each tortilla. Then add a few spoonfuls of cheese sauce on top of the meat.
3. Break the taco shells in half and lay them flat on top of each wrap. Layer on the lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream, and then fold the edges of the tortillas on top to seal.
4. In a skillet over low heat, brown the wraps until they are lightly golden and warm.
